Debbie, Roxie and I met up with Rick and Kay for New Years at Lake Lopez. We used to go too Laughlin for New Years but we decided to try someplace else closer. We had a real nice visit with Rick and Kay. Weather was raining for the first day but cleared up. Debbie, Roxie and I did several walks around the campground and had a couple of nights sitting around the campfire. This was our first trip with the new paint scheme on the HitchHiker. Lots of wild life this time. When checking in at the office, there was a flock of wild turkeys in the parking lot. One day we counted nine deer going through our area of the campground. Woodpeckers seem to be everywhere. We even heard them on our roof. Rick said that the woodpeckers put acorns in the holes of the trees to be used for food during the winter. I have a photo of one of the trees behind our site just full of acorns. I even found some acorns in the TV antenna on the HH when we got home. We had a great time with Rick and Kay and have missed our trips that we have had in the past. Hopefully the economy improves and we can do this more often.
